An important aspect to inclusion efforts within any organization is an assessment of the existing culture and how it mirrors the societal mainstream. From there, conscious decisions can be made on how to upgrade or "remodel" the current organizational culture.
This workshop explores the values, norms, and expectations that surround us within the walls of mainstream educational institutions, and then asks the questions: Where did these norms come from, how do they affect our students (and ourselves), and which would we like to let go of?
Robin Quirke is a researcher (psychology, political science, and history), facilitator, and educator. Quirke graduated with a BS and MS in psychology from the University of Oregon. Their facilitation style is to create a space of curiosity, respect, connection, and care.
